Dry skin and sensitive skin – How natural skincare can help!
Dry skin and sensitive skin can be caused by a multitude of reasons. The best way to get it quickly under control is to use a great natural skincare moisturiser that is enriched with plant extracts and oils. Unfortunately, dry skin and sensitive skin often comes hand-in-hand, so tread really carefully with what products you use as you don’t want to risk making the problem worse.
If you suddenly do have dry skin or sensitive skin, try to quickly work out what it is that is causing the issue. Dry skin and sensitive skin can be a sign of a reaction – or it can also happen with the change of seasons.
Once you’ve worked out what the problem is and have eradicated the cause, it’s time to try and help your skin with some form of natural skincare treatment. Use as few chemicals as possible and instead consider using something very gentle that’s still moisturising and contains lots of skin-loving moisturising ingredients like New Zealand meadowfoam oil. New Zealand avocado oil, New Zealand blackcurrant seed oil. You’ll want to boost moisture quickly, so it’s worth using something that’s very rich.

Natural Skincare Tips for How Our Skincare Routine Needs Change With the Season
Just as our clothes change to suit the weather, so do our natural skincare needs. Its fine to have a few key natural skincare products that you never deviate from, but it’s also important to remember that skin needs different beauty products in different climates.
When the weather outside is frightful, chances are your skin is working extra hard to maintain its moisture level. Cold temperatures, harsh winds, snow and ice all take a toll on your skin and this often results in facial skin feeling dry, dehydrated and parched. If you’re normal skin type is oily or you’re prone to greasiness, it’s important to still ensure that your skin is getting the moisture it needs. The best thing you can do is invest in a natural skincare facial cream that is designed for your skin type and make sure in your beauty regime you apply it liberally, both before you leave the house and before you head to bed.
If your skin is dry, the same rules apply, you just need to make even more effort with your beauty regime to keep your skin feeling moisturised. Consider using your favourite natural skincare night cream as a mask a few times a week by cleansing and toning your skin, then applying a thick layer all over your facial skin without rubbing it in. Leave the mask for as long as you can, then rub in any remaining natural skincare moisturiser.
When the weather outside is delightful, chances are you’re going to sweat in the heat. This has an impact on all skin types for several reasons; not only will most skin types end up leaning towards being prone to oiliness, but as you sweat and a sweaty film is present on your face, dirt and grime is more likely to get trapped on the surface which, if left to its own devices, can cause blocked pores, spots and dull skin tone. Therefore it’s really important to be extra vigilant with your skincare cleansing routine every evening.
A common mistake oily skin types make is to skip moisturiser all together when the sun is out. This is a bad idea as whilst sweat may leave your skin feeling like it’s greasy, grease is not moisture and your skin will still need extra help with moisturising, regardless of whether it feels that way on the surface.

Natural Eye Creams - You only need a tiny amount of eye cream around each eye.
Natural eye creams are an essential in any natural skincare routine, as it’s all very well having perfectly clear, beautifully smooth facial skin, but you wouldn’t be doing yourself any favours by using great natural skincare products on the rest of your face and ignoring your eye area. The best natural eye creams need to be applied carefully as the area around the eye is extremely delicate, so tread carefully and follow these tips:
Take a less is more approach and use a tiny amount of a natural eye cream on each eye. Leave it to soak in, then if the skin feels dry you can add more.
Tap your natural eye cream into your skin rather than rub it, as rubbing the skin around the eye area can move it around and possibly cause fine lines.
Just as you would do with a natural skincare moisturiser, pick an eye cream that’s suitable for your skin; for example, if you’re in your twenties then you only need something light, as using something too rich will flood the area and risk making it look a little puffy and baggy.
Be very, very gentle! If you can’t trust yourself to use the right pressure then use your little finger to apply as this finger is limited in how much pressure it can achieve.
Lastly, for a weekly treat, apply a thick layer of your natural eye cream around the whole eye and leave it on for 20 minutes to act as a natural skincare eye mask. You can do this whilst you use a face mask to save time. When the time is up, tissue off any residue.

The Secrets of Antioxidants in Natural Skincare Products
If you are a woman or a man with great skin chances are you aren’t just lucky – you more than likely look after it. Most people with healthy facial skin watch what natural skincare products they put on their facial skin and are diligent at looking after it.
Fruits and vegetables are healers and cleansers on the inside and we are now all becoming far more aware of their huge potential in natural skincare products to look after your facial skin on the outside. Blueberries, goji berries, pomegranates, avocados, carrots and dark chocolate are just some of the superfoods rich in antioxidants found in most food stores and supermarkets today.
Antioxidants work by slowing the natural ageing process and can be found in most colourful fruits and vegetables. They are fabulous in anti-aging facial creams formulated to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Incorporating the right antioxidants into your diet and skin care routine can have a hugely positive effect on your skin.
So remember a healthy skin and a radiant glow is not exclusive to those with good genes, nor does it have to come from a very expensive jar of anti wrinkle cream. Eat a diet high in antioxidants and start using natural skincare products that are formulated with premium plant extracts and oils that are high in antioxidants

A Natural Night Cream – How It Benefits Our Skin
If you’ve read any of our other blog posts, you’ll know how important we feel a good night time natural skincare routine is. Cleansing effectively so all make-up and dirt is gone and then following with a natural toner to make sure no cleanser is left and anything that was missed during the cleanse is also removed are both very important steps, but we feel that the most important step is finding and using the right natural night cream.
Using a natural night cream that not only agrees with your skin type (as a rule of thumb, the more oil in your skin, the less you want in a moisturiser and vice versa) but actually works to improve it can make the most significant difference to your overall skin health.
At night, our body starts doing all the things it couldn’t do when it was actively doing other things so this is the most optimum time to supply it with the right tools to treat skin issues effectively. If you’re applying a good natural night cream before you go to bed, your body doesn’t need to waste any time on replacing lost moisture as you’ve done that for it, so it can instead focus on repairing wrinkle/blemish/pigmentation causing damage and keeping your skin happy.
Therefore, it’s absolutely essential that you not only find a good night cream but also that you apply it every night and help your body give you the best skin it can. Well moisturised skin is healthy, glowy, dewy and blemish-free, and who wouldn’t want skin like that?
