Is Your Dry Sensitive Skin or Oily Skin Taking a Beating From The Weather?

Weather is something that has a significant and surprisingly speedy impact on skin condition, so it’s no wonder that people find their skin reacting so drastically to weather changes. Weather that is both too warm and too cold impact skin; if it’s too warm, you may find that your skin produces more oil and sweat, resulting in oily skin and blemishes and a greasy appearance, whereas if it’s too cold, your skin might dry out and become dry sensitive skin and also itchy.

The key to keeping dry sensitive skin or oily skin happy in adverse weather is to know your skin and know how it reacts, and adjust your routine accordingly. For example, if it’s very warm and you find you have oily skin, you will need to use an incredibly light natural skincare moisturiser such as our Savar skincare oil free Rosehip Ultra Brightening Serum to maintain moisture-levels.

Don’t think that by having oily skin you wont need a moisturiser, as your skin still needs this essential step. If your skin is used to a natural skincare moisturiser and you suddenly deprive it, it will start to try and compensate by producing even more oil…not helpful when you’re trying to combat oily skin!

If the weather has turned cold and you find you have dry sensitive skin, the key to success is to tread very carefully with your natural skincare routine. Make sure that you avoid anything harsh and instead stick with skin-loving, gentle formulas that will nourish your skin without aggravating it. Keep moisture levels topped up with a rich natural moisturiser like our Essential Hydration Moisturisers and plenty of pampering, moisture-boosting masks such as our Savar Gentle Hydrating Antioxidant Moisture Mask.

Keeping skin happy is a challenge and will involve making a few changes, but if you know your skin and you know how to treat it then it shouldn’t be too difficult!
