We love natural skincare and pampering, but we know that not everyone has the time or funds to visit the salon and get a facial or treat themselves to some pampering. This is why we have created our own quick and easy five-minute facial that you can do at home, using our favourite Savar natural skincare products.

 

 

Start with our Natural Luxury Face Wash. This is a soap free natural face wash formulated to remove dirt, grime and oil to prepare your skin and pave the way for the rest of the facial. Clean skin is a lot more receptive to pampering products and will therefore feel the benefit of our facial.

 

Next use our Natural Refining Revitalising Facial Exfoliator to buff away any dead skin cells and leave skin smooth and ready for the next phase.

 

Now, apply a thick layer of our natural Hydrating Antioxidant Moisture Mask and work it into the face. Spend a good couple of minutes massaging it in and keep adding layers as your skin drinks it in. When a few minutes are up, you can tissue away any excess.

 

Use our Natural Instant Boost Multi-Toner to remove any excess mask and follow with another spritz of facial toner to refresh skin and tighten pores.

 

Lastly, follow with our Savar Antioxidant Night Cream to nourish and hydrate skin.

 

This is a really easy way to give yourself a wonderfully pampering natural skincare facial in just a few minutes – we promise you’ll see a big difference!

1.  Plant-Based Food:  You can spend all the money you have on good quality natural skincare and make-up, but if you’re eating junk and avoiding vegetables then your skin will never look its best.  It is not about being super strict and sticking religiously to a diet, but a plant-based diet will go a long way to achieving healthy skin, providing your body with all the nutrients it needs.

 

2.  Sleep:  Most people take sleeping for granted, but the amazing things that your body undertakes during sleep are essential to achieving healthy skin and making sure everything is working and moving properly.  Try and give yourself at least a couple of early nights a week where you allow your body to wake up when it wants to, rather than when the alarm goes off.

 

3.  Pamper:  Give yourself at least an hour of ‘me’ time a week where you indulge in whatever way you like.  This doesn’t need to involve lots of natural lotions, natural potions and natural masks and can be as simple as an hour of lying around in bed with your favourite magazine, eating chocolate. The important thing is to give yourself some time-out to relax and enjoy doing absolutely nothing.

 

4.  Fun:  Happy people have happy healthy skin and there’s no better way to get your happy endorphins going than having some good old fashioned fun.  Take some time off and enjoy yourself, relax and de-stress, this will make sure that you’re striking a good balance between work and play.

 

5.  Natural skincare:  Obviously we weren’t going to make all these suggestions without the most essential one of all, which is the importance of taking good care of your skin.  Keep skin clean, pampered and nourished as often and as effectively as you can with quality natural skincare products; don’t ever go to bed wearing make-up and try and invest some time every week to boost your skin with a facial massage or a natural skincare mask, even if you just spend five minutes massaging in your favourite natural moisturiser, it all makes a difference and keeps skin glowing.

It is important to remember that your skin is an organ, and responds to the outward environment as well as what you put into your body. This means it may change, and may fluctuate between dry or sensitive.

 

If your skin has recently changed, try to figure out what might have caused the changes; have you started using different products? Not just on your face but on your hair or in the shower, as these products will inevitably touch your face at some point during use. Stress is another factor that can dramatically change your skin and cause it to react strangely, so whilst it’s important to get to the root of the problem, it’s also important to act quickly and treat accordingly.

 

It is likely that your skin is dehydrated which means it’s lacking water. This is common when hormonal changes occur (often brought on by stress) and is a skin condition rather than a skin type. You’ll need to adjust your skincare to include natural products  that are still aimed at your original skin type, but also that will help put more water in to the skin. A quick solution for dry skin is to add a richer Natural Normal to Dry Moisturiser to your routine, or using a natural Antioxidant Moisturising Mask, to allow your skin to replace lost moisture.

 

Another cause may be that your skin lacks oil.  Therefore, your skincare routine should focus on products for dry skin that don’t worsen the problem (so avoid anything that foams, unless it is soap free as this will further strip the skin). Search for natural cream-based cleansers  and rich natural moisturisers. Your skin type would also benefit from regular exfoliation (gently working a warm flannel over your face in circular motions a few times a week would suffice).

 

The key to keeping dry skin happy is to give it what it wants; lots of moisture, care and TLC.

It is important for all of us to remind ourselves that the number of followers we have on Instagram or the amount of likes we get on Facebook, are not measures of our self-worth. How we treat ourselves and others and how we feel on the inside are what count.

 

In our experience, here at Savar, along with a healthy natural skincare regime, food is one of the foundations for positive change and can hugely influence how you feel. Eating a plant-based diet, rich in fruit, vegetables and whole-grains, is one of the most loving things we can do for ourselves as it really supports a healthy body which is central to our happiness. If you follow Savar on social media, you will have noticed that we tend to joke about our lovely security team – our two miniature schnauzers, Nico and Mila. These two are Vicky Woolford (director)’s dogs that she brings into work each day. Regardless of the humour that they bring into the workplace, it has been established that dogs in the work place provide many benefits to employees and the dogs themselves. Here are several benefits and why we love Nico and Mila:

 

Dogs offer social support for employees with their cheerful attention, they are proven to put people at ease and improve social life. In a work place, this is great as increases the network and cooperation between employees.

 

Dogs encourage exercise – as need to be walked twice a day. This is good for both the dog and human physical and mental health. Taking a break by getting out into the sunshine and fresh air does wonders for one’s health and productivity.

 

So too, it has been proven that petting a dog reduces stress, blood pressure and changes physiological state into a more relaxed mode. Employees see this as a valuable employment perk.

 

Most importantly, it is great for Nico and Mila! They are included in Vicky’s day, instead of being left isolated at home. They are better socialised and more relaxed, as encounter a wide variety of people each day. Not to mention, the adore the attention they get.

 

Before you bring your pet into the workplace however, it is important to ensure no employees have allergies, and to abide by health and safety restrictions. Nico and Mila are kept to the office – where they are healthy and happy.

 

Nico and Mila make the workplace more relaxed, productive and enjoyable! They are a special addition to our fabulous team, and bring a smile to everyone’s face.
